ONLINE GAMING AS A CAREER

          ONLINE GAMING AS CARRER

                 November 28,2021/ Dharmender Narwal

Think of a workplace where you do not have to follow a fixed 9-5 schedule; where you play games for 12-14 hours a day and get paid attractive figures. You guessed that right. A career in gaming is now a reality! You can become a pro-gamer; take part in national and international championships and play for your country. What’s not to love? But hey, there is something you must know- you have to be fantastic at this!

 Why a career in gaming?

According to KPMG and Google’s report ‘Online gaming in India: Reaching a new pinnacle’, the Indian gaming industry is set to add 190 million gamers by 2021. As the market drivers of this industry are rising income of households, increasing smartphone accessibility in rural and urban areas, and affordable and economical technological systems, the internet penetration as of today stands at 31% and is going to see an elevation of 53% of the total population by 2021. This means the gaming sector in India is expected to rise in the upcoming coming years. Frankly, a career in gaming is not for everyone. Not if you want a steady salary or fixed working hours. But it is for those who have a knack in gaming, knowledge of the technical know-how, and are aware of the demands of this unconventional career.

There are many popular online games which are played and showed on many platforms as a way of earning like YouTube, Instagram, Facebook and even many gaming platforms provide a source to a gamer show his skills on a large reach as well.

Some of the game types are;

1. MOBA (Multiplayer Online Battle Arena)

2. Online card games (such as poker and blackjack)

3. FPS (First Person Shooter)

4. DCCG (Digital Collectible Card Games)

5. Battle Royal Games

6. RTS (Real-Time Strategy Games)

     These games are played either online or offline and gamers team up with others; play and compete in video game competitions and tournaments. The video game tournaments are organized by various organizations and eSports associations.

Fun fact India too has its own eSports federation called the eSports Federation of India.

WHAT PEOPLE ACTUALLY THOUGHT?

 The set mentality in our society and in our peoples are that getting a government job is like a “getting diamond in a mine”. Although that job must gave 20-25K per month after doing work from 9 to 7 but still have a large impact on peoples. On the other side gaming is complete different, you just sat on chair and play games and earn as much you can. People see this work as a bullshit, even parents does not want their child to stuck on a chair continuously for hours. Yah its also true to some extent you should focus on your studies as well with gaming once you started earning and have a huge interest in it, then just go for it. It not only gave you satisfaction but fulfill your need as well.

Think about it, a career in gaming is not just about playing games, you can literally earn a lot more before you turn 30. Sounds crazy right? But it is a truth.
